Robert Wayne, an emerging Country music songwriter and performer, is based in the Florida panhandle, small town Navarre, where he performs to enthusiastic fans on some of the biggest stages in the Pensacola and Destin area.

Robert was born in “the cereal capital of the world”, Battle Creek, Michigan where he developed a love of music from his music teacher, Mom. Family car trips always involved singing three part harmonies to Moms favorite songs, from Gospel to Country Western. The love of music accompanied him as the family moved to Florida in Robert’s teen years.

Once in High School, Robert found immediate success in performing and winning weekly local talent shows. Although performing mostly cover songs, Robert began writing and pulled together a Country band. Small club gigs soon led to a house band job at the prestigious Summerdale Supper Club in Summerdale, Alabama. This experience inspired his songwriting and grew his fan base. Encouraged by his fans and his family, Robert made an exciting decision to move to Nashville, Tennessee with “half a song and a wild-eyed dream”, which happens to be a song he wrote on his latest album based upon this experience. Nashville was a great opportunity for Robert Wayne to learn, first hand, about the music business. Robert worked at honing his writing skills while he performed regularly at the Nashville Palace with incredible musicians. He met his wife Shelley, their first son came quickly, but the big success in the music business was elusive. Realizing that the security and prosperity had to come first, Robert put his dream on the back burner, and moved back to the Florida Panhandle to start his business.

Robert Wayne began his custom home business during the Florida housing boom and his business prospered. But then disaster struck with hurricane Ivan, which decimated the local community. Ivan became a turning point for Robert’s future. The housing market required immense rebuilding and created significant opportunity for Robert’s construction business, which thrived. But he was not fulfilled. After joining the Praise Team in his local church, he quickly realized that music is a part of himself. He began writing again and at the request of friends of family, Robert Wayne recorded his first album, “Small Town Navarre” at a local recording studio, Coleman Studios. His friends were impressed and wanted to hear more. Encouraged, Robert Wayne made a commitment to record a Nashville album, which was produced by Brent Rader, who has worked with Country acts such as Jana Kramer, JoDee Messina, Collin Ray, and many more. The result was the incredible album,“Nobody Knows My Name”.

Robert Wayne has since formed a band of seasoned professionals and has been performing throughout the Panhandle to rave reviews. He is a high energy performer that thrives on connecting with his audience. His shows are dynamic and interactive, supported by a professional band and staging, comfortable with the biggest venues, from events like the Pensacola Fair to Destin’s Harborwalk, Robert Wayne is a crowd pleaser, and his dream continues…Country Music From The Heart.
